May is one of those key turning points in the year when the weather becomes a little bit warmer, the atmosphere becomes hazier and colours are saturated in the spring sunshine. It is also a time for exams and endings, and my life seems pretty full of these right now which is why I haven’t been able to post anything recently.
Into The Wild
If there had been a theme for January’s and February’s posts it would have been Glamour, so this month’s ‘theme’ is Into The Wild. I was considering The Great Outdoors but there is something a bit clichéd about the phrase, and I felt that Into The Wild has this sense of creeping into nature and allowing it to take over (the film is one of my favourites too).
Here’s February’s Édito, a sort-of editor’s letter to keep you updated with this blog. Although January exams are over, the new semester at uni has started and it’s proving to be rather busy. Hopefully I’ll be able to fit in a few blog posts, though I need to prioritise my uni work. I’ll be continuing look at the work of photographers who explore similar themes and ideas as Slim Aarons.
I’ve been thinking recently of ways to develop and improve this blog, and I realised that I enjoyed writing the Édito post (based on the concept of an editor’s letter) and how it allowed me to express my intentions and thoughts on Le Projet Culturel.
