More from the plastic and print series: colourful plastic sheets are placed over the fashion pages of an old magazine. The fifties dresses and elegant poses of the models conjure up images from fairytales; indeed the ‘Disney Princess’ came into the cultural sphere during this era.
I’ve taken a series of photographs using coloured plastic sheets and old magazines. The result is collage-like compositions which feature geometric shapes, interesting textures and vivid colours. I’ve divided the photographs into different themes based on their content: features, fairy tale, consumer culture, beauty and advertising. Here is the Features series.
An update: I’ve bought my domain, so it’s now .com instead of wordpress.com. Also, I have a lot of university work at the moment so there will be fewer posts over the coming weeks.
I created this collage a while ago; I used images from travel magazines with different landscapes. The idea is simple: match up the horizons; but I think the result is really interesting.
